White Sox executive vice president Ken Williams said Monday rumors of major-league suitors in Seattle and Toronto are "flattering," but he intends to focus on issues on the South Side for now.
As the Sox opened a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field with a 5-4 loss to the Red Sox, he has enough to keep his mind busy while trying to figure out a team he called "perplexing" because of its inconsistency.
Williams said he usually can get a handle by June on how a team will perform against a particular opponent, but in the final week of August, he still doesn't see a lot of rhyme or reason to when the Sox go on their extreme hot and cold streaks.
