Jose Abreu wants to 'spend whole career with White Sox organization'

Jose Abreu dislikes being the designated hitter so much that a reporter asked the White Sox first baseman Tuesday if he should move to the National League.

"No, not even a joke," Abreu said through a team interpreter. "I want to spend my whole career with the White Sox organization because they were the ones who gave me the opportunity to play here. And they have done a lot for me. I love to be here."

That comment certainly made general manager Rick Hahn happy, even if it won't be an issue for the Sox any time soon since Abreu is signed through 2019.
