The White Sox have lost four of five, but James Shields and company will try to add a victory Saturday against the A’s at Guaranteed Rate Field on Mark Buehrle Day.
The former White Sox left-hander’s number 56 was retired before the game.
Shields is making just his fifth start this season, and his second since coming back from a foot injury. He is four strikeouts shy of 2,000 in his career.
