There is no way to be objective and professional about this: I am very excited about Thursday's news that the Chicago White Sox will "host" the New York Yankees next August at the Field of Dreams near Dyersville, Iowa.
If you've been following along, you've probably noticed that I grew up in Iowa and I'm not too shy about bringing it up. I have used my hometown as a kind of character more than once. Frankly, after this year's one-off staging of a Royals-Tigers game in Omaha, Nebraska (I think it should become an annual event), I kind of figured it would be some time before Iowa would reemerge as a topic in my writings.
