On a day when former Illinois receiver Darius Millines became the latest player taking to Twitter to air his complaints about how he was treated by Tim Beckman, the embattled coach defended the programs he built both at Illinois and Toledo.
Reached by phone Wednesday, Beckman initially declined comment to the Tribune and said he will address the allegations at some point.
When asked about allegations made by former Toledo players during his three years as coach at that school, Beckman said, “Both programs have been very, very successful with what they’ve done.”
Beckman is the subject of a review by the university chancellor after allegations of misconduct and physical mistreatment were made against him Sunday by former Illinois offensive lineman Simon Cvijanovic.
