How fans can get tickets to Chicago White Sox and Cubs games this year — and what teams are doing to maintain safety, from assigned gates to cashless concessions

For the first time since the 2019 season, fans will be roaming around Guaranteed Rate Field and Wrigley Field. Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Monday that a limited number of fans will be allowed to attend Chicago White Sox and Cubs games this year.

The decision falls in line with Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s reopening plan that allows outdoor sporting venues to be filled to 20% of capacity. The Cubs can have 8,274 fans per game at Wrigley to open the season, while the Sox can have 8,122 fans at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Cubs season ticket holders will have priority access to secure tickets starting March 15.
