In celebration of National Nurses Day, we’re tipping our caps to two women with close ties to the White Sox in a Heroes Beyond the Diamond double feature. White Sox Volunteer Corps member Joan Morris and Pride Crew member Caitlin Fortier work as nurses on the frontline of this global health crisis, and we’re thrilled to have a platform to share their inspiring stories and recognize such amazing work.

Following Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s ask to increase the medical workforce, Joan returned from retirement to lend her time, skills and expertise to the Amita Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove as an APN/CNS.
