Forgotten 2005 champion grateful for ringing endorsement from White Sox

You can ask former White Sox infielder Pedro Lopez where his 2005 World Series ring is, but he won't tell a soul.

Only Lopez knows.

"It's a secret where I keep it stored — I'm serious,'' Lopez said when pressed about its location. "I don't want anybody to know so I tell nobody. People in the Dominican can get crazy. They might try to steal it.''

Lopez, 31, comes from Moca, the capital of Espaillat province in the Dominican Republic. He signed with the Sox as a free agent when he was 16, slowly working his way through the system thanks to slick fielding that earned him a brief major-league promotion in 2005.
