Eloy Jimenez rejoins the starting lineup as the White Sox open a three-game series against the Tigers at 7:10 p.m. at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The left fielder was reinstated Friday after being placed on the bereavement list on April 22. He went to his hometown of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, following the death of his grandmother, Flora Sanchez.
“It was a little bit hard to say bye, but she’s in my heart all the time,” Jimenez said before the game.
Jimenez said Sanchez provided plenty of life lessons and support.
