Dylan Cease works his way out of trouble to throw five scoreless innings as the White Sox beat the Indians 2-0

Cease allowed two hits, walked five, hit one batter and stuck out four. Even in the win, he felt there is room for improvement.

“I can’t expect those kinds of results if I’m going to have that many baserunners all the time,” Cease said. “Fortunately, we were able to get out of here with a ‘W,’ but it’s not something that’s going to be sustainable. So I have to do a better job of getting ahead and not doing that.”

The Sox suffered another injury to their pitching staff when reliever Aaron Bummer exited with left biceps soreness after throwing a strike in the seventh inning.
