White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper preached forgiveness for ace Chris Sale's jersey-cutting incident one day before Sale will make a much-anticipated return from a five-game suspension.
Cooper called Sale "a good kid who has a good heart" and said he will be ready to start the finale of the City Series on Thursday night at Wrigley Field.
"With all of the time and conversations we've had with Chris, it's easy for me to forgive and move on," Cooper said. "I know how he's going to be accepted by me. … 'Welcome back, let's go to work.
