Danny Mendick scores the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning, and the Chicago White Sox hold on for a 5-4 win against the Detroit Tigers

Danny Mendick scored on a sacrifice fly to left field by Yoán Moncada in the 10th inning, and the Chicago White Sox held on for a 5-4 victory against the Detroit Tigers on Friday at Comerica Park.

The Sox led 4-2 going to the ninth. Closer Liam Hendriks threw one pitch before a rain delay. He returned and after a single and a popout, then allowed a tying two-run home run to Daz Cameron.

The Tigers had runners on first and second with no outs in the 10th, but Bummer struck out the next two and got Jonathan Schoop to ground out to Mendick to end the game.
