As Chris Sale pitched a simulated game on a back field at Camelback Ranch on Wednesday, Jane and Jeff Casey sat in an empty grandstand behind home plate.
Six fans milled around the area near the back fields of the vast Sox complex, but only the Caseys were watching Sale. In fact, outside of the media, White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper, executives Rick Hahn and Ken Williams and a few players, they were the only eyewitnesses.
The exclusive look at Sale's spring outing was nice, they agreed, though they wished the batting cage wasn't obscuring their view.
