Yoán Moncada, Jake Lamb, Yasmani Grandal and Tim Anderson hit solo home runs to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 4-1 victory against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Moncada hit an opposite-field home run, his fifth of the season, to left against Tigers starter Casey Mize in the first inning. Lamb hit a 412-foot solo homer, his fourth of the season, to right against Mize in the second.
The Tigers cut the lead in half on Willi Castro’s solo home run in the fifth. That was the only run Sox starter Lance Lynn allowed in his six innings as he improved to 7-1.
