The Chicago White Sox put All-Star Lance Lynn on the 10-day injured list with right knee inflammation Tuesday, then saw fellow right-hander Lucas Giolito leave his start against the Pittsburgh Pirates with left hamstring tightness.
Giolito, 27, departed in the fifth inning after fielding a ground ball awkwardly off the bat of Ben Gamel. After being checked out, he attempted to continue with his outing but threw a wild pitch while shaking out his left leg on a followthrough. Eventually, manager Tony La Russa and the training staff came out to the mound, and Giolito was pulled in favor of reliever Ryan Tepera.
