Chicago White Sox All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson placed on 10-day injured list with hand injury

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday in between games of a doubleheader with the Kansas City Royals.

Anderson was diagnosed with a sagittal band tear on the middle finger of his left hand after he returned to Chicago from a road trip on Sunday to be seen by doctors. With the open roster spot, the White Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher Reynaldo Lopez from the 15-day injured list.

Anderson, 29, who made the American League All-Star team last month, is also serving a two-game suspension for making contact with an umpire.
