The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Adam Engel on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation, one of five roster moves the team announced Monday.
Engel has a .248/.339/.505 slash line with six doubles, seven home runs, 18 RBIs and 19 runs in 33 games this season. He missed time earlier this season because of a strained right hamstring.
The Sox also selected the contract of pitcher Mike Wright from Triple-A Charlotte, recalled pitcher Ryan Burr from Charlotte, optioned pitcher Matt Foster to Charlotte and designated pitcher Zack Burdi for assignment.
