4 takeaways from the White Sox-Twins series, including Eloy Jimenez’s clutch hit paving the way for the Sox to clinch their first playoff appearance since 2008

Here are four takeaways from the four-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field, in which the Chicago White Sox won three of four against the Minnesota Twins.

He came up for the fourth time in the game during the seventh inning with a chance to put the Sox ahead.

Jimenez wasted little time, hitting a double down the left-field line on the first pitch of his at-bat against reliever Sergio Romo. Pinch runner Yolmer Sanchez scored, giving the Sox a 4-3 lead, and they held on to win by that score.

“I just felt really emotional after striking out three times, to get that double and bring them in from second, for me that was a really special moment and I just let it go,” he said.
