SAN ANTONIO — The last time Kawhi Leonard played in an NBA game, he landed on Zaza Pachulia's left foot and re-sprained his left ankle, forcing him to miss the rest of the Western Conference finals.
That injury has nothing to do with Leonard's current injury — a quad ailment that's sidelined the MVP candidate for the season's first seven games and has him without a firm timetable to return. The Spurs have been mysteriously mum. Their fanbase is irritated and a bit worried.
Thursday night, they'll have an outlet to unload that frustration, a burly center to absorb the brunt of their boos.
