That the Eagles own the NFL's best record at 7-1 and enter the second half of the season as legitimate Super Bowl contenders might have tempted Roseman and the Eagles' front office to overpay or scramble to add an older veteran at a position of need. But in Ajayi, they acquired a player who can be more than a Band-Aid if all goes well. Ajayi is 24 and has a year and a half left on his rookie fifth-round contract.
