What the new Big Ten Tournament schedule will mean come NCAA Tournament time

When the 2018 NCAA Tournament Selection Committee reconvenes in New York City this March, it will do so with more information than ever. The Big Ten, a conference that’s produced more NCAA bids (34) than any other league over the last five years, will be fully accounted for.
In a move that is sure to be analyzed and scrutinized, the Big Ten is playing its conference tournament a week early this season — from Feb. 28 to March 4 at Madison Square Garden. All teams will have final résumés submitted when the committee gathers on March 6.
On the outside, conversation will center on what the change means for individual teams.
