The team closed its week of practices with a high-energy scrimmage. The game was close in the final seconds. The ball found itself in rookie Jordan Bell's hands deep in the corner.
Bell only hit three total 3-pointers in three seasons at Oregon. He's not a Stephen Curry- or Kevin Durant-level threat from the outside. But when Bell pump-faked, JaVale McGee, his defender, was duped and went flying.
“You can conclude whatever you like from that,” Kerr said.
Bell then took a step inside the line and, with one second left, lofted in an unlikely 20-foot buzzer-beater to win the game.
