This season's version could and probably should be the best Warriors team ever

The Warriors set a regular season record two years ago, winning 73 games. They set a playoff record last year, going on a 16-1 stampede to the title.

It's probably a wise bet that they won't match either mark this upcoming season. But considering the players they return, the sweet spot in the career arc of their four stars and the perfect blend of veterans and youth around them, a strong argument can be made that this Warriors team is set up to be the best from this golden era and, likely, the franchise's history.

The Chicago Bulls won 72 games and then a title during the 1995-96 season, now known, because of that regular-season record that stood for two decades, as the signature team from that legendary dynasty.
