SAN JOSE – The Canadiens practiced here Monday and spent almost the entirety of their hour-long skate working on various aspects of their offensive game.
Transition in the neutral zone, offensive zone entries, set plays off those zone entries, cycling down low, the Canadiens ran the gamut.
Yes, the play of Carey Price might be a source of concern right now, but no reasonable observer has any reason to believe that won’t change. At least not yet.
But the offence? Who knows if it will change? And how can it change?
The Canadiens are sixth in the NHL in shot attempts, seventh in unblocked shot attempts and fourth in shots on goal per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 ice time, yet they are second to last in the NHL in goals for per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.
