The NoteBurke: Tate's injury increases the need for a healthy Golladay

Golden Tate has not missed a game since he joined the Lions in 2014, so it is anyone's guess as to how the coaching staff will handle his absence. Tate left Sunday's game with what the NFL Network's Ian Rapaport reported is an AC sprain. At minimum, that would put Tate's status for Week 8 vs. Pittsburgh in doubt.

A couple of elements to keep in mind here: 1) There are varying grades of AC sprains, so if that is indeed Tate's injury the range of possible time missed is wide; Green Bay wide receiver Randall Cobb suffered a Grade 1 sprain at the end of the 2015 preseason, then suited up for Week 1 of the regular season two weeks later.
