State of the Pac-12: Certainty gives way to anything but

Off the field, the first half of the Pac-12 season provided plenty of newsworthy highlights — Gary Andersen stepping away from Oregon State and nearly $12.5 million, ESPN’s bizarre feud with Washington coach Chris Petersen and Washington State athletic director Bill Moos leaving for Nebraska without so much as a hint of his departure.

Alternatively, on the field, it looked like the Pac-12 was making sense.

Washington and Washington State were undefeated in the North, slowly making their way toward what most assumed would be one of the most consequential Apple Cups in recent years. Stanford seemed to be at a distant third, but was worth watching anyway thanks to a very special Bryce Love.
