After signing a three-year, $27 million contract a couple of offseasons ago, Jerryd Bayless came to the Sixers as a veteran presence with a skill set that could theoretically mesh well with incoming top overall pick Ben Simmons’ unique style of play. Unfortunately, just like it was for Simmons, 2016-17 ended up as a lost year for Bayless.
Bayless initially felt soreness in his left wrist during training camp at Stockton University, which caused him to miss the first month of the regular season. After gutting out three games in late November through noticeable pain, the 29-year-old point guard had season-ending surgery to repair a torn ligament in that wrist.
