West Virginia is in a three-way tie for second place in the Big 12 as it gets set to host Oklahoma State on Saturday. Mountaineers coach Dana Holgorsen, a former offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, knows it could be a track meet, and he deploys his team with that in mind.
Perhaps more than any other coach who has come up under the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach Air Raid tree, Holgorsen has made significant tweaks to create his version of the offense, and he’s done it by and large by creating concepts called “packaged plays.” You could argue West Virginia’s version of the Air Raid offense is the most balanced in existence today.
