LAVAL – When the Canadiens traded a 5th-round pick to the Vegas Golden Knights for David Schlemko on June 22 the hope was that he'd become a valuable member of the defence corps. Claude Julien needed more mobile defencemen on the roster, and Schlemko fit the bill.
Fast forward to October 13, and the Canadiens are yet to see what Schlemko can offer them. Injured on the first day of training camp and having missed the entire preseason with a bruised hand, Schlameko was finally healthy enough to play with the Laval Rocket on Friday against the Binghamton Devils.
