Rutherford: Samuel Blais is blazing new trail for Blues

He was small, played just two or three shifts in the game, and when the night was over, he disappeared from the team.
It wasn’t even enough for Michel Picard, the Blues’ Quebec-area scout, to write up a report on 17 year old Samuel Blais, and even if he wanted to continuing tracking the French-Canadian forward, he couldn’t. The Victoriaville Tigres of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League had sent Blais back to Midget AAA, and Picard didn’t have time in his busy schedule to monitor the lower level.
“He was about 5-foot-9 and looked skinny, but he had the puck,” Picard said.
