KANSAS CITY, MO. — As much as last spring’s brief playoff series loss to the St. Louis Blues still leaves a bitter taste in all Wild player mouths, Thursday night’s preseason rematch against the Central Division rivals was not a case of, as Wild coach Bruce Boudreau put it, “We have to beat those buggers.”
Hardly.
The regular season for the Wild starts next Thursday in Detroit. And, after playing mostly minor-league lineups the previous two exhibition games, Thursday was an opportunity for the Wild to dress a lineup that very much could resemble the one with which they plan to start the season.
