The Summit League reached its highest elevation last season, placing 14th among the 32 Division I conferences in the USA Today Jeff Sagarin Rankings. According to KenPom, the league led the nation in six statistical categories: efficiency (110.8), tempo (71.9), effective field-goal percentage (54.2), turnover percentage (16.3), 3-point percentage (39.6) and free-throw percentage (74.2). The Summit has sent at least three teams to postseason play in six consecutive seasons. However, now comes a one-year transition period down to an eight-team league. IUPUI has departed for the Horizon League, while North Dakota will arrive from the Big Sky Conference next season.
