Pregame thoughts – Penguins vs. Blue Jackets

Ever since he arrived as Penguins head coach in December of 2015, Mike Sullivan hasn't been afraid to do some research and development with regards to his lineup. He's slotted Patric Hornqvist as a left winger, inserted David Warsofsky as the power-play quarterback and even the much heralded HBK Line of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino and Phil Kessel was an experiment to some extent.
In the face of injuries or other factors, Sullivan isn't afraid to just try something to see if it will work.
Enter Scott Wilson. Throughout most of his brief NHL career, Wilson has been primarily a bottom-six forward despite netting 22 goals in only 34 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2015-16.
