Chicago Fire designated player Nemanja Nikolic was voted MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) Tuesday for his performance in 3-0 victory against New England on Saturday.
The forward also earned a spot in the MLS Team of the Week on Monday for his work against the Revolution, a game in which he scored twice during the second half. Also featured on the Team of the Week was Nikolic’s attacking partner Luis Solignac.
Nikolic doubled the Fire’s advantage in the 47th minute, pouncing on a deflected shot in the box for a tap in finish.
