Season-openers can almost always be counted on to be unpredictable and a little outside the norm. Saturday’s curtain-raiser was certainly that for the Chicago Fire, who came all the way back from a 2-0 second-half deficit to claim a 3-2 advantage, only to leave empty-handed as visitng Sporting KC erased a deficit of its own to win 4-3.
