Eager to carry the momentum established at Toyota Park with them on the road, the Chicago Fire did just that on Saturday, receiving a 52nd-minute counterattack goal by David Accam and posting a second straight clean sheet en route to a 1-0 win at D.C. United. The club's third straight win came with some notable milestones:

  • As the fulltime whistle blew, the Fire had improved to 6-3-3 on the year, with their 21 points good for second place in the Eastern Conference table and third in the Supporters' Shield, pending results of the remaining matches to be played in Week 12.
