More beyond the score: The Blues bust in first-ever trip to Las Vegas

Vegas 3, Blues 2 (OT)

LAS VEGAS – David Copperfield would have been in awe of the hidden-puck trick and the disappearing whistle Saturday night in the Blues’ first-ever game against the expansion Vegas Golden Knights.

But the club had only itself to blame after an overtime loss at a raucous T-Mobile Arena.

The Blues scored just two goals on a season-high 49 shots on net, came up empty on four power plays despite nine attempts, and the penalty-killing unit allowed two more goals.

Finally in OT, Vegas’ William Karlsson finished off an entertaining three-on-three session with two-on-one rush that ended with the sudden-death goal.
