MLSPA Releases Player Salary Information

In one of American soccer’s most cherished rites of spring, the MLS Player’s Association released salary info for all league players earlier today. The MLSPS releases this info every year, disclosing base salaries and total compensation for every player in Major League Soccer to the public.

Here are some of the top-line figures:

  • The Chicago Fire are on the hook for $13,824,204.42 in player compensation. Of that, $8,006,333.45 is earmarked for the Fire’s two Designated Players.
  • The highest paid Fire player is, obviously, Bastian Schweinsteiger. He’s taking home $6,100,000.
