Michael de Leeuw undergoes reconstructive surgery to repair a ruptured left anterior-cruciate ligament

CHICAGO (Nov. 9, 2017) – Chicago Fire forward Michael de Leeuw had reconstructive surgery to repair a ruptured left anterior-cruciate ligament on Thursday. The procedure was performed by Dr. Brian Forsythe at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush.

De Leeuw suffered the injury in the first half of the Fire’s match against New York City FC on Sept. 30 at Toyota Park. He had three goals and eight assists in 30 games for the Men in Red this season.
