Five games certainly feels like enough time to make irrational, sweeping generalizations about the type of season the Cavs are about to endure, so let’s do it. Their defense in general, and particularly in guarding the 3-point line, has been repulsively abysmal.

The Cavs entered Thursday’s games allowing 14 3-pointers per game, dead last in the league. The Bulls, Magic and Nets — three rebuilding franchises in the pitiful Eastern Conference — have each made 17 3s against them in their past three games. It’s to the point already that Tyronn Lue is threatening lineup changes if it doesn’t improve quickly.
