It’s no secret that the Giants have a power problem. In a season during which the MLB record for home runs hit fell, the Giants have been left out in the cold.
Through Tuesday, Giants batters were dead last in home runs hit and slugging percentage – and by a sizeable margin in both categories. The Giants have no hitters that have reached the 20-homer plateau. In comparison, the A’s have five players with at least 20 homers. A’s rookie Matt Olson has hit six more home runs than any player on the Giants, and Olson has appeared in only 59 games this season.
Is there a quick-fix to the Giants' power problem? Can they identify their own Khris Davis (or two)?
