Bears outside linebackers coach Brandon Staley didn’t need much time to recall a specific play from Leonard Floyd, one that wasn’t a sack but still showed his skill and potential.
“In the Carolina game, Cam [Newton] kind of got out when we were in a five-man rush, he kind of stepped up to his left, more towards our sideline and you saw Leonard come from our left side and pounce on him,” Staley said Tuesday at Halas Hall.
Staley referred to that as a “loose play,” or an “off-schedule play,” when a mobile quarterback can gain yards when things break down.
