Five thoughts on the Sixers’ lackluster home opener

Even if the games don’t mean anything for a few weeks, Sixers basketball is back. And considering Wednesday’s preseason opener against the Memphis Grizzlies marked the first time that both Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz stepped onto an NBA court, I decided to channel our esteemed Flyers writer and offer a few observations from a 110-89 Sixers loss that their coach called “erratic.”
1. A tale of two No. 1 picks
Right off the opening tip, Fultz found a cutting Simmons for a nice little running floater. At that point, the two rookies were on pace to score on every possession of their careers!
