David Accam was back in the starting lineup, but wasn't the offensive force he has been for most of this season. They didn't need him to be with his teammates scoring four times en route to another decisive home victory.
The 4-1 win pulled the Fire to within three points of Toronto FC at the top of the East after their 1-1 draw with DC United.
Accam was subbed off in the 65th minute while carrying a yellow card and the Fire holding a 3-1 lead at the time. It was one of his least effective matches of late and the early exit fueled some speculation this might have been his last walk off the pitch at Toyota Park given the talk surrounding transfer interest in the speedy Ghanaian.
