One of the features I hope to bring to The Athletic this season is the ability to do “film studies” from the eyes of the Wild players or coaches involved.
As a sportswriter, I have long done my best to describe an in-game situation with play-by-play from a comfy press box high above the ice.
This season, I hope to take certain plays or goals or saves from games and have the players or coaches involved after the fact explain what was happening from their vantage point or what they we thinking or saw during the given situation.
