So, not a particularly thrilling 90 minutes of soccer. The Red Stars needed a win to clinch a playoff spot and could only manage a draw. Not the worst result, and it sets them up to nail it down next week, but this is definitely a missed opportunity.
We’re going with Alyssa Naeher for our WOTM this week. When your attackers can’t make anything happen, you need your goalkeeper to have a great day, and Naeher did just that. Some real heroics late in the game made sure that the Red Stars got out of Kansas City with a point.
