In a thrilling Round of 16 match between USL side FC Cincinnati and our MLS side Chicago Fire, goalkeepers were the story. There were a ton of great performances — Jimmy McLaughlin and Arturo Alvarez to name a few — but the keepers stole the show, keeping this thing 0-0 until pens. We’ve got to give the MOTM to Matt Lampson, who made some phenomenal saves, and in the 120th minute, denied FC Cincinnati with a massive stop. In the penalties, he was bested by his opposite number, but Lampson did everything possible to keep the Fire in this match.
FC Cincinnati 0 (3), Fire 0 (1): Man of the Match
