Former Chicago Fire defender/midfielder Matt Polster is heading back to MLS, leaving Rangers in Scotland to join the New England Revolution.
As a part of the deal, the Fire will receive $100,000 in 2021 General Allocation Money from New England, in exchange for Chicago’s right of first refusal. The Fire could receive $100,000 more in future GAM from the Revs if Polster hits certain performance targets.
Polster was the seventh overall pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft for the Fire, and played four seasons with the club before opting to leave Chicago to join Rangers after the 2018 MLS season.
