Chicago Fire get $125,000 in General Allocation Money in Trade with Colorado Rapids

In a uniquely-MLS move, the Chicago Fire dealt the club’s number six overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft to the Colorado Rapids. In return, the Fire pick up $125,000 in General Allocation Money, the club announced today.

The draft will be held in January, like usual. However, a final date hasn’t been set.

On draft day last year, the Fire sent the 10th overall pick to the New York Red Bulls in exchange for $100,000 in General Allocation Money. The club selected Jonathan Jimenez at number 26, but chose not to sign him.
