FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (August 9, 2016) – The Chicago Fire fell 3-1 to the New England Revolution on Tuesday night in the semifinal round of the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament.
New England forward Kei Kamara opened scoring in Foxborough after defender Rodrigo Ramos was called for a foul inside the penalty area. Ramos got a foot in on a Kelyn Rowe dribble at the upper corner of the 18-yard box and was whistled, setting up Kamara for a spot kick finish to Fire goalkeeper Matt Lampson’s right.
David Accam leveled things in the 40th minute with his fifth goal of the tournament.
